Product packaging project

The top image is the name of my company, it's just a typical music store. And the bottom is the product packaging created from the original logo.

CATE logo

This was my design for the CATE logo. Most of it is just typography with added designs. The designs on the "C" and the design on the bottom letter "L" are supposed to look like the cogs of gears. I though this was a good representation that CATE represents a technology field of jobs. The extra small horizontal lines I added just to give the logo a sense of movement. I think it's simple but not too simple, in my opinion. I am fully satisfied with the product. Also, both top and bottom logos could be used, I put color on the bottom just so that you can see what it looks like in a color.

My Logo

These are both of my designs for my graphic design company, Ink'd Graphics. As you can see the word "Graphics" Is inside the larger letters of "INK'D". I thought it was pretty creative and I really enjoyed doing this. This logo could be a little simpler but my personality is eccentric and I enjoy flashy-like things. So doing somthing simpiler than this would just flat out annoy me. The bottom is in black and white and the top is color. I like the lime green gradient, I think it gave it that perfect pop of color, plus it's my favorite color!

Personal Vector Logo

The top pictures is of the original logo and the bottom picture is of my recreated logo. The only difference between the two was the text. Obviously, finding the exact text used in the logo is nearly impossible, so I did my best to find the most similar. This logo was not particularly difficult to recreate but this was not the first logo I attempted. I was going to recreate the Harley Davidson logo but it proved to be aggravating and difficult so I decided not to waste any more time so I chose the NBC logo.

Evaluating Artwork

 DIRECTION
The picture shown above is a great representation of "direction" in art work. As the wind blows through the grass, the blades unanimously move in the direction the wind is blowing. The wispy look of the grass gives it a softer, calmer feel. Direction is important in representing movement and directional actions. The grass is blowing horizontally which suggests calmness, stability and tranquility.

TEXTURE
This photo clearly is a good representation of the use of texture. Texture gives art work, form, feel and realistic qualities. The surface quality of this image is displayed as rough and worn. This element gives the image more interest and character, making the door of this metal cabinet look antique with years of use.
COLOR
This image is a great depiction of the use of eloquent colors. The colors in this photograph are bold and give the image more definition. The greens of the grass pop from the image and bring out the yellowish color of the dried grass beside it. The truck is almost a greenish gray, but very pronounced. The artist used an assortment of grays that allowed the truck to have more value with shading and lighting. The silver colors of the truck are also very pronounced and the use of white gives the silver a shiny look as it reflects light. As you can see the sky is overcast, however behind those dark clouds you can visibly see a bright blue sky. This gives the picture personality and uniqueness.

VALUE
The only colors that make up this image are black and white. However, the image is predominantly dark with dark shades of black and gray. The use of black gives this image more definition. The fact that there is only one light source helps tell us that this picture takes place in the evening. The light touches the environment around it with light shades of gray fading into black as the light source weakens.  The values of light and dark in this image give it an ominous tone.
LINE
This image contains an assortment of directional lines. The use of these lines make the image appear as if you were standing in the corridor with the background shrinking as it becomes farther and farther away. The vertical lines of the pillars give this image a feeling of balance, formality and alertness. The pillars are abrupt and perfctly built. The crossed lines of the tile on the floor gives the image a bit more interest as the lines fade into a "vanishing point" in the horizon.
 SHAPE
This picture is very abstract and is a design peice. This picture uses a variety of shapes to make up differnt patterns. The uses of squares, lines, triangles and other quadrilaterals, make this photo edgy with sharp corners and give this picture an ecstatic feel. The bright colors and assortment of intersecting lines make this an eye catching picture.
SIZE
The picture above was likely done digitally. As the dice is thrown, the dice appear to get larger as they move to the bottom of the photo. This appeal to different sizes make the dice appear to be moving toward the screen. The relationship of the first dice and the last is significant because the closer the dice is to the view point the larger it becomes. The first dice is represented smaller to make it appear to be coming from the background.

Ashley -my bio.

Yeah so, I'm Ashley. I'm a senior this year, woo! I have a little sister who's a freshman this year, her name is Sarah. You wouldn't know her if you saw her, she's my exact polar opposite. In literally every way. I swear one of us must be adopted... I'm in the marching band, it pretty much takes up 75% of my free time at practices, games and competitions. Even on the off season, I'm constantly practicing on my flute and piccolo in an attempt to make the Texas All State band. But I enjoy band nonetheless, I wouldn't be who I am today if it weren't for it. Most of my friends are in band and I consider the band hall my second home. :) Yes, I know... I'm such a band geek. I also really enjoy art. I'm currently in the Art IV AP class and I can already tell that I'm going to have a lot on my plate this year. This art class is tough and not for the fainthearted. I kicked off my summer this year on an Alaskan Cruise. Pretty cool, huh? Not as cold as you might think, but it was a nice change from the 100+ weather in Texas. I saw lots of whales from the ship and even went on a smaller boat whale watching. Bald Eagles thrive there and you don't go a day without seeing one. Towns in Alaska are small with oldish buildings and few roads. In most towns the only way to get there, is by plane or boat, they are locked in by mountains, rough terrain makes it impossible to build roads on. I also went on a hike to Mendenhall's Glacier. It was probably the most spectacular thing I've ever seen in my life. The ice appears to be a bright blue, even though it is clear the light hits it in a way that makes it appear blue. And yes, Glacier water is the purist most delicious water you will ever drink! I recommend that everyone take a trip to Alaska at least once in their lifetime. Also, this summer I went to the WTAMU band camp. Ha, surprised? It was so much fun. Two weeks of freedom and music and fun with your closest friends, I think yesss! Aside from the required rehearsal, you're free to do whatever you want, go to a movie, the grocery store, hastings, get a snow cone, go to Wendy's, McDonlads, Taco Bell... you name it! There's also an activity center where you can go swimming, bowling, play basketball, volley ball and racket ball. So basically, it's awesome. :) Yeah so I could probably tell you more about myself but I've decided that I don't really feel like saying anymore! So thanks for reading!
